Fishing Trip: Fishing Wabaskang Lake and its adjoining waterways is productive all season long. Many camp "veterans" of twenty and thirty years have commented that it is even better today than ten years ago. Take your next Canadian fishing trip to Wabaskang Lake.
Hunting Trips: Peffley's Canadian Wilderness Camp offers fall black bear hunting trips. Archery or gun hunts. Guided or unguided Canadian bear hunts are available.
Secluded Settings / Remote: In our remote secluded setting with the highways far behind you, you will enjoy many of the amenities of home you would not expect in the wilderness. Our boat-in camp offers the remoteness of a fly-in camp without the costs of a fly-in fishing trip
Angling
Bass / Smallmouth Bass: The smallmouth bass fishery on Wabaskang over the last six or seven years has just exploded! Good numbers of bass in the 16-20" range were caught using tube jigs & cranks around the middle cut and out in Gawley's Bay, as well as just out from camp.
Northern Pike: Northern in the 20-30" range are plentiful & easy to catch along weed edges (often jigging for walleye). For the more serious Northern anglers, casting or trolling big crankbaits over the weed tops can provide trophy northern pike over 40".
Walleye: A canadian fishing trip on Wabaskang Lake uses jigs & minnows with Lindy rigs to produce good numbers of fish all season, the last 6 weeks of season saw good numbers of walleye in the 20-30 inch range. Visit our website for walleye fishing reports.
Conservation Fishing: Releasing quality breeding fish is important to maintaining the population and the great fishing opportunities we enjoy here on Wabaskang Lake. At Peffley's Canadian Wilderness Camp, we strongly support catch & release and conservation fishing.
Perch: Many jumbo perch can be found on Wabaskang Lake. Our guests enjoy excellent fishing for perch from within a 10 minute boat ride from camp.
Trout / Lake Trout: Lake trout fishing is excellent in spring and fall on Wabaskang Lake as well as on a nearby portage lake
Whitefish: Fish for whitefish on Wabaskang Lake near Perrault Falls, Ontario.
