Fishing Trip: For a Canadian fishing trip, some of the finest fishing in Canada is right here in Lake of the Woods. Trophy muskie, walleye and smallmouth bass are a great possiblity, as well as excellent fishing for crappie, northern pike & lake trout.

Spa / Saunas: Relax after a long day in the great outdoors in out beautiful wood fired sauna. It is large enough to seat 12-15 people. Nothing could be more relaxing than being surrounded by the dry, warm heat, and the scent of aromatic cedar.

Trails / Nature Trails: Hike our private 600 acre island; use the groomed 3 mile nature trail or explore on your own and blaze new trails. Sights to see include wildlife, birds, ducks and wildflowers. We'll pack you a picnic and you can go exploring.

Swimming / Sand Beach: On those hot lazy days of summer, there's nothing better than a dip in the lake. There are numerous beaches nearby on the islands, so why not stop and cool off on your very own "private" beach?

Birdwatching: For the nature lovers, birdwatching in our area offers many species. Watch and listen to the call of the canadian loon, bald eagles soaring overhead or enjoy hiking on trails and discover the many species our forests have to offer.

Dining: Guests enjoy dining in our spectacular dining room overlooking the lake. We also accept reservations for those not staying at the resort, so if you're in the area and would like to join us for a meal, just give us a call.

Nature Photography: Nature photography is plentiful on Lake of the Woods, so don't forget your camera. We have it all, from birds and wildlife to pictographs and landscapes. And you'll never get tired of our sunsets, which offer the most spectacular colors imaginable.

Canoeing & Kayaking: Explore miles and miles of shoreline, secluded bays and Lake of the Woods many islands by canoe. Let the sights and sounds of nature surround you as you leave from our island location. Don't forget your camera to record your experiences!

Bass / Smallmouth Bass: Pound for pound, bass are the gamiest fighter to be found; they have thrived in our north woods lakes and are readily available to anglers. A real thrill for the light tackle enthusiast and an excellent catch-and release species.

Northern Pike: Northern pike have long been the favorite of sport fishermen due to its large size and fierce disposition, as well as its excellent table qualities. Our guides will be happy to show you how to remove those pesky "Y" bones!

Muskie: Sabaskong Bay on Lake of the Woods has long been recognized as one of the world's premier musky fishing locations. Duck Bay Lodge is located right in the heart of Sabaskong Bay on Hay Island - 12 miles N.W. of Nestor Falls or 7 miles N.E. of Morson.

Walleye: Walleye fishing has long been a favorite with anglers and is unsurpassed as table fare. Caught in large numbers from mid-May to October, walleyes move from the shallow bays in spring to rocky points and reefs as the summer progresses.

Crappie: Spring and fall are the best times to find the crappie schooled up in deeper holes. Duck Bay is just minutes away from some of the best spots on the lake. They're fun to fish for and make a tasty meal!

Trout / Lake Trout: Lake trout are available in the deepest and clearest parts of Lake of the Woods. We are conveniently located less than 30 minutes from some of the best spots. A favorite time for trout is in the spring when they are still fairly shallow.

Bass / Largemouth Bass: If you're coming up to Lake of the Woods for bass, you will come across largemouth bass. Although they are not as common as smallmouth, they are caught in increasing numbers.

Wildlife Viewing / Photography: Bring your camera and expect to be awestruck by the opportunities to view wildlife in their natural setting. From the soaring majestic bald eagles, pelicans, loons, all types of ducks, moose, deer and even bears! Wildlife viewing at its very best.

Boat Rentals / Fishing Boats: Our fishing boat rentals are 18-foot Lund boats with 40 and 50 h.p. Mercury motors, fully equipped with bow mount trolling motor, flat carpeted floor, padded swivel seats, electric start, fish locator, live well, and required safety equipment.

Boat Gas: Unleaded gasoline is available at the resort for your convenience.

American Plan: Duck Bay Lodge is an American Plan resort located on a 600 acre island featuring six modern lakefront cabins with private baths, hearty home cooked meals and recreational activities. Boats are all 18' Lunds with 40 and 50 h.p. 4 stroke motors.

Cabin Rentals: Duck Bay Lodge on Lake of the Woods features 6 private cabin rentals that can house up to 6 people. All are set up with everything you will need to be comfortable while on your fishing trip to Ontario at our island resort.

Cottage Rentals: Our cottage rentals at Duck Bay Lodge offer you comfortable accomodations that include private 3-piece bath, fresh linens & Hudson Bay Blankets, they all feature a lake front location to enjoy a beautiful canadian sunset over Lake of the Woods.

Boat In Access: Looking to really get away from it all? Duck Bay Lodge is located on a remote island and is accessible by boat or float plane only. We will pick you up at our supervised parking area for a 7 mile boat trip to the island. Our boat holds 6-7 people.

Guides / Fishing: Hiring a professional guide for all or part of your vacation is a great investment. He will teach you where to fish, fishing techniques, what tackle works and the best structure to be fishing. Plus, he cooks an unforgettable Canadian shorelunch!

Fly In Access: We are a boat in resort on Lake of the Woods, but if you wish to fly in, we are float plane accessable and arrangements can be made.

Licenses / Fishing: Duck Bay LOdge carries a variety of fishing licenses available for sale. For Duck Bay guests, a conservation license is included as part of your package. Guests may upgrade to a full license at their discretion.

Amenities / Conference Rooms: We have conference rooms available for your use while on your fishing trip to Duck Bay Lodge.

Amenities / High Speed Internet: Need to check email? Surf the web? No problem. We have an internet connection for your convenience in our recreation building. We provide this service free to our guests.

Amenities / On-site Bait & Tackle: We stock live bait and the most widely used terminal tackle, so there's no problem at all if you should run low on "what's hot".

Amenities / Pets Allowed: We had a much loved dog for many years and love animals. Your pet is welcome at Duck Bay Lodge. As you are expected to be responsible for your pet, please note that pets can not be left unattended and are not allowed in the main lodge.

Amenities / Games Rooms: Our lodge offers a games room for our guests to enjoy in the evening, or any time of the day! Satellite TV, foosball, cards and darts are popular pastimes. This building overlooks the docks, so it's always fun to check out what's going on.

Amenities / On-site Gift Shops: Don't forget to pick up that souvenir from our on-site gift shop for those loved ones left behind at home. We have a great selection of Cloumbia clothing, hats and local books.

Amenities / Banquets/Catering: If you are planning a banquet, Duck Bay Lodge can help. We have hosted a number of events ranging from birthday parties, neighborhood get togethers, and wedding parties. Give us a call.

Amenities / Satellite TV: If you really have to check on what's going on in the rest of the world, or can't miss that important sporting event, we have satellite TV available in the recreation building. We use DirecTV as our provider.
