Activities / Attractions
Fishing Trip: Plan your next ontario fishing trip on the Winnipeg River System and fish lakes such as Rough Rock, Big & Little Sand, Gun, Pistol, Worth and Sword. Fish for walleye, bass ,muskie (musky), trout, northern pike and more.
Hunting Trips: Your canadian hunting trip awaits you and the Minaki and Winnipeg River System area offers hunters of all types some fantastic opportunities. For big game you can pursue black bear, deer, and moose.
Winter Activities / Cross Country Skiing: If you enjoy cross country skiing there are many nature trails through the forests near Minaki or try it on the Winnipeg River and enjoy the beauty you will see in our area of Northwestern Ontario in the winter.
Winter Activities / Snowmobiling: What a better way to spend a beautiful winter day than snowmobiling on the many trails in our area or use your snowmobile to get to your favourite fishing hole on the Winnipeg River.
Canoeing & Kayaking / Canoeing: If you wish to go canoeing while at our resort on the Winnipeg we have canoe rentals or bring your canoe or kayak.
Secluded Settings / Islands: Looking for a secluded setting for the ultimate in privacy, how about renting an outpost cabin on an island?
Swimming: When on vacation at North Star Village in Minaki and want to go swimming it is only a short drive to Worth Lake or boat to Big Sand Beach.
Angling
Bass / Smallmouth Bass: The varied hydrography offers stable habitats for smallmouth bass fishing. While on your fishing vacation at our resort on the Winnipeg River you can fish for bass or on such lakes as Big Sand, Pistol, Sword and Rough Rock.
Northern Pike: When fishing northern pike on the Winnipeg River System at North Star Village in Minaki they can be found anywhere from the dock up to eighteen miles north or south/up & down river.
Muskie: Looking for muskie fishing in ontario, muskies are abundant along the Winnipeg river system, numerous bays and lake mouths up and downriver from the our lodge make fishing in Minaki just north of the Lake of the Woods a great area for musky.
Walleye: Fishing areas for walleye change during the season. In the Spring, fish in the river channel, then mid-June to mid-July, larger schools move to Big Sand By mid Sept. they are dispersed in the larger lake bodies moving in a migratory pattern upriver.
Trout / Lake Trout: When on your fishing vacation at North Star Village, for a change of pace, some of our fishers trail a boat to an inland lake to try for some Lake Trout.
Crappie: While fishing in Minaki,Ontario and want to go crappie fishing certain areas also offer the opportunity to catch Black crappie.
Ice Fishing
Sauger : Sauger fishing is usually successful in front of our resort on the Winnipeg River in Minaki, Ontario
Hunting
Deer: You will find many large-bodied deer in the Minaki area just north of the Lake of the Woods area of Kenora. Lots of big bucks making our deer hunting a great area.
Moose: The moose is Ontario's largest big game animal and the area north of Minaki is a good hunting region.
Black Bear: Looking for a canadian bear hunt in the Minaki area of Northwestern Ontario, fall black bear hunts offer hunters the chance at a large black bear.
Birds: For bird hunting the forests & waterways surrounding North Star Village in Minaki, Ontario also provide an excellent habitat for a variety of grouse, geese and waterfowl hunting opportunities.

Boat Launches: When you stay at our resort on the Winnipeg River system launch your boat at our boat launch at our marina.
Boat Rentals / Fishing Boats: We have fishing boats and motors available for rental if you don't have your own fishing boat or would prefer to rent one from our resort.
Boat Rentals / Canoes & Kayaks: At our resort in Minaki on the Winnipeg River system we have canoe & kayak rentals for your enjoyment.
Boat Gas: At our marina at our resort in Minaki we have both boat gas and vehicle gas available for your convenience.

Housekeeping Cabins: Planning your canadian fishing vacation & looking for accomodations, all our housekeeping cabins include 16 channel cable TV/VCR, all linens, soaps, detergents, coffee makers, toasters, freezers & microwave ovens. Cabins accomodate up to 14 people.
Cabin Rentals: We have cabin rentals along the lakeshore. Every effort is made to ensure that your cabin is fully equipped. However, any requests for special needs are welcomed in order that your visit will be as comfortable as possible while on vacation in Ontario
Cottage Rentals: Your Winnipeg River lakeside cottage rental is extremely well maintained and offers many comforts after a long day on the water. It will be our goal to make your fishing or family vacation with us enjoyable and relaxing.
Drive In Access: Drive in to our lodge which is located on the shores of the Winnipeg River in Minaki, Ontario. It is 32 miles north of Kenora on Highway 596 or 160 miles north of International Falls, Minnesota.
Outposts: Looking for a ontario fishing adventure away from everything, our outpost on Gordie Lake has access to 4 additional lakes for great fishing and a secluded setting.
Amenities / Open Winter: Our resort is located in Minaki, Ontario and we remain open winter for you to enjoy snowmobiling, ice fishing and many other winter activities.
Amenities / Marinas: At North Star Village in Minaki on the Winnipeg River, we have a full service Marina, complete with boat gas, bait & tackle, ice and refreshments.
Amenities / On-site Groceries: Althoug we do not have on-ssite groceries there is a grocery/off sale in town or we will get your order while you are out fishing.
Amenities / Pets Allowed: Looking for a pets allowed resort for your family vacation? North Star Village on the Winnipeg River allows pets at their resort.
Licenses / Fishing: Although North Star Village does not sell Fishing licences they are available in Minaki which is just 5 minutes away.
Retail Outlets / Sporting Goods / Fishing Equipment / Bait Shops: When at our resort get all your bait & tackle at our dockside on-site bait & tackle shop located on the Winnipeg River.
Islands / Lodges and Resorts: For a unique experience, we have a cabin rental for you on your private island. Phone for details.
Guides / Fishing: When staying at our resort on the Winnipeg River in Minaki, Ontario if you wish fishing guides they are available on request.
