Savanne River Resort & Campground

Camping: We have nightly, weekly and seasonal R.V. and trailer camping sites. Many with power (15 & 30amp) & fresh well water hook-ups. Camping sites are on Savanne River with good fishing and docking. Marina, boat launch and grocery store.

Fishing Trip: Fishing trips for walleye, bass & northern pike on Lac des MIlle Lacs. Lac des Mille Lacs or Lake of a Thousand Lakes is a sensational web of islands, bays, inlets, channels & shoals. Join us for some of the world's best fresh water fishing

Winter Activities / Snowmobiling: We have a beautiful setting for winter vacations & snowmobiling. The main Trans-Canada snowmobile trail crosses our property. Snowmobile trails to excellent ice fishing. Clean, dry, warm accommodations with full kitchens designed for large groups.

Hunting Trips: We offer resident hunts for moose and black bear. Non-residents can hunt ducks and upland birds such as grouse. Residents can hunt for moose in WMU 12B and 15B. Various accommodations are avilable for your hunting trip.

Winter Activities / Cross Country Skiing: Cross-country skiing is something you can enjoy over the winter. See the beautiful scenic vistas of frozen lakes and waterfalls.

Swimming: Enjoy a refreshing swim on those hot summer days.

Birdwatching: There are dozens of species of wild birds including several species of songbirds. A birder's dream come true.

Canoeing & Kayaking / Canoeing: The French explorer Jacques De Noyen paddled down the Savanne River in 1688. If you enjoy canoeing you too can paddle the historic Savanne River. Canoe rentals are available.

Hiking: There are several hiking trails in the Lac Des Milles Lacs area where our resort is located or you can blaze a new trail with a walk through the forest.

Playgrounds: When you spend your family vacation at Savanne River Resort & Campground in Upsala, Ontario, we have a playground for your children to enjoy.

Nature Photography: Photo opportunities abound for scenery and wildlife. You may snap that picture of a liftime during your visit.

Northern Pike: Awesome northern pike trophies are found in Lac des Mille Lacs. Book early to be here on the opening week. Wide selection of accommodations for large and small groups. Fishing packages.

Walleye: World famous walleye fishing and trophies on Lac des Mille Lacs. Wide variety of accommodations for large and small groups. Special fishing packages and summer family plans.

Ice Fishing: There are year round winterized cottage rentals & hotel/motel rooms available for ice fishing. Each cottage has a full size & fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. They handle large groups comfortably. Motel: fully equipped kitchenettes and bathrooms.

Bass / Smallmouth Bass: Besides the great northern pike and walleye fishing on Lac des Mille Lacs, smallmouth bass fishing is also available.

Wildlife Viewing: The Savanne River offers excellent photo opportunities for the nature or wildlife enthusiast. You can pretty much enjoy wildlife viewing anywhere near the resort.

Moose: Our moose hunt is for Ontario residents only in WMU 12B and 15B. We traditionally hunt the north and east end of Lac des Mille Lacs, the Savanne River and surrounding bush roads where there is always a good number of moose.

Birds / Duck: Upland game birds, ducks and waterfowl may be hunted by residents and non-residents. We are located on the Savanne River which leads to Lac des Milles Lacs.

Black Bear: Our resort in the Upsala area of Northwestern Ontario offers accomodations for resident hunters as we have an abundance of bear in our area. Only resident Black Bear hunting is permitted.

Boat Launches: If you wish to bring your own boat our well-maintained boat launch provides easy access to the water. Free boat launching and docking for our guests staying in the cottage rentals or hotel/motel.

Boat Rentals / Canoes & Kayaks: Canoes are available for rent. Take a quiet paddle on Savanne River or Lac des Mille Lacs in one of our canoes.

Boat Rentals / Fishing Boats: For your fishing trip on Savanne River we offer 16 foot Aluminum fishing boat rentals with 15 &20 hp motors at competitive rates. Upgrade to a Lund Rebel with pedestal seats, bow casting platforms, live well, floor etc.

Cabin Rentals: When looking for accomodations all our cabin rentals are fully modern & equipped for housekeeping (except for towels). We have one wheelchair accessible cabin available. Most of the cabins are located on Savanne River with picnic table & fire pits.

American Plan: Let us pamper you with our American Plan package. Stay in a large cottage rental or hotel/motel room and enjoy home cooked meals in our restaurant. All lodging is on Savanne River with docks close by.

Housekeeping Cabins: While on your Ontario fishing trip enjoy large fully equipped housekeeping cabins or hotel/motel rooms, all with 4pc bathrooms & kitchens. Located on Savanne River with docks close by. Our housekeeping plan includes cabin rental, boat & motor.

Cottage Rentals: Our resort has comfortable accomodations for your canadian fishing vacation, large, bright, fully modern. Most of our cottage rentals are on the Savanne River which leads to Lac des Mille Lacs. Satellite TV is available in most of the cottages.

Campgrounds: Enjoy swimming, hiking, basketball, horseshoes, children's playground and campfires while staying in our campground. We offer both overnight and seasonal camping sites. Most campsites have power (15 or 30 amps) and water.

Drive In Access: Drive in to your vacation. Savanne River Resort is located 70 miles northwest of Thunder Bay on the Trans Canada Highway #17 (12 miles east of the village of Upsala).

Hotels / Motels: Our hotel/motel offers more luxurious accommodations for fishing and hunting groups and vacationers. You will enjoy large modern efficiency units with all the conveniences including satellite TV and daily maid service. Free boat docking & launching.

Amenities / Open Winter: We are an open winter resort offering cross country skiing, snowmobiling,Ice fishing on Lac des Mille Lacs, or just enjoy the beauty of northern Ontario under a blanket of snow. We are located 70 miles northwest of Thunder Bay near Upsala, Ontario.

Family Vacations: In July & August we offer special family rates for those of you with children. These rates apply to minimum stays of 1 week. Enjoy fishing, swimming, basketball, horeshoes or camping on your family vacation. There is also a playground for the kids.

Guides / Fishing: Fishing guide service is available for your fishing trip to Lac des Mille Lacs.

Amenities / Handicapped: Savanne River Resort has one handicapped cabin rental available on Savanner River, the entry into Lac des Mille Lacs.

Amenities / Pets Allowed: Pets allowed is normal at Savanne River Resort and Campground. We want the everyone to have an enjoyable family vacation in Canada.

Campgrounds / Seasonal RV Sites: Seasonal RV sites are available for those looking for extended stays. 15 and 30 amp service available. Our campground is located near Lac des Mille Lacs, 70 miles northwest of Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Amenities / On-site Bait & Tackle: We have a selction of bait & tackle for you to choose from at our on-site bait & tackle shop at Savanne River Resort & Campground.

Amenities / On-site Laundry: Campers will be pleased to know that when they go camping at our resort we have on-site laundry available for their convenience.

Amenities / Marinas: At Savanne River Resort our marina has an extra large boat launch for houseboats, etc...We have a marine gas, bait and sundries. The parking lot is well lighted and secure. We have boat rentals by the day or week.

Amenities / On-site Gift Shops: While on your family vacation in Upsala, Ontario and are looking for a souvenir, we have a good selection in our on-site gift shop.

Amenities / On-site Groceries: If you run short on groceries while on your vacation to our resort our well-stocked on-site groceries will replenish your supply.

Guides / Hunting: Black Bear & Moose Hunting guides are available at our resort near Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Licenses / Fishing and Hunting: At Savanne River Resort & Campground we sell fishing and hunting licenses for you convenience.

Amenities / Satellite TV: Savanne River Resort has satellite TV available in the main lodge, the hotel/motel rooms and most of the cabin rentals.
