Shoal Lake Lodge

Secluded Settings / Islands: Our lodge is located on Cedar Island a secluded setting on Shoal Lake. We are protected it offers many, many miles of shoreline and countless offshore structure in its cool clear waters.

Fishing Trip: Shoal Lake offers what others can only imagine in a fishing trip. Our specialty is Northern Pike and Small & Largemouth Bass fishing. Northern Pike fishing is simply fabulous both in number & size. Shoal Lake is managed as a high quality bass fishery

Hunting Trips: We offer hunters a great opportunity at a trophy whitetailed deer. The Lake of the Woods area of Northwestern Ontario is well known for it's excellent deer hunting and Shoal Lake near Kenora is no exception.

Trails / Nature Trails: Enjoy the many nature trails while on your Ontario vacation with us. There is plenty of wildlife in our area so don't forget to bring your camera.

Dining: The Lodge/Dining Hall sits on Cedar Point with a panoramic view of Shoal Lake to the East, South and West capturing sunrises and sunsets. Guests enjoy superb meals in the spacious dining room or kick back on the deck and enjoy the view.

Bass / Smallmouth Bass: Smallmouth Bass fishing is considered second to none in Shoal Lake. It is rated by others to be possibly the best Smallmouth Bass Lake in Northwestern Ontario. The many reefs, shoals & rocky shorelines are littered with smallies waiting to do battle.

Northern Pike: Northern Pike fishing is simply fabulous both in number and size. Large weed beds teeming with bait fish hold Northerns. Casting over and around these beds with spinnerbaits or rapalas not only yield large numbers of pike but large individual fish.

Conservation Fishing: At Shoal Lake Lodge our fishing guides are locals who live on the lake and know it best practice conservation fishing. We encourage catch & release for all species and have camp rules to protect this spectacular fishery.

Muskie: When on your ontario fishing trip to our lodge, the odd muskie can be found in Shoal Lake. Lake of the Woods is well known for trophy musky and you can easily access it from Shoal Lake.

Bass / Largemouth Bass: Largemouth bass fishing on Shoal Lake, Ontario, Canada is fantastic. Shoal Lake is managed as a high quality bass fishery. To keep it as a true world class lake we practice a strict catch and release policy on small and largemouth bass.

Perch: As a bonus, you can fish for perch on Shoal Lake, they are a great pan fish for shore lunch.

Whitefish: Along with great northern pike and smallmouth & largemouth bass fishing, add whitefish to your Canadian angling adventure.

Wildlife Viewing: A large eagle population with bald & golden eagles resting on islands with a nest on our islands East end. Ospreys, white pelicans, loons & gulls call the waters home. Unspoiled waters & wilderness make the area spectacular for wildlife viewing.

Deer: For a canadian whitetail deer hunting trip come up to where the big bucks roam. This area of Ontario has large, heavy animals, many with massive racks. Visit our deer hunting website for more information.

Boat Rentals / Fishing Boats: We use Xpress Boats. An all welded modified Vee aluminum Fishing Boat with flat carpeted floors, swivel boat seats, and depth finders. They are nicely set up with casting platforms in the bow.

Boat Gas: If you prefer to bring your own boat at our lodge on Shoal Lake we have boat gas available for you.

Boat Rentals / Canoes & Kayaks: While on your fishing trip to Shoal Lake take a break from fishing and canoe around the lake and enjoy the wildlife our area has to offer.

Boat In Access: We are ideally located on Cedar Island in the middle portion of Shoal Lake, Ontario, Canada. From our Shoal Lake landing, about 10 miles south of Highway 17, boat in about 5 mile to our island location in the middle of Shoal Lake.

Cabin Rentals: For a canadian fishing vacation to Northwestern Ontario enjoy our new boat in cabin rentals on Shoal Lake which all have a super view of the lake. These log cabins all vary in size to suit your needs.

Cottage Rentals: Three of our canadian cottage rentals are on the East point of Shoal Lake & 3 along the Bay North of the Lodge. Each is well spaced for privacy with a super view of the lake. Private decks with chairs at each cabin to relax & enjoy an Ontario sunset.

Housekeeping Cabins: For your fishing trip to Ontario, stay at brand new housekeeping cabins on Shoal Lake. Choose between a guided or self-guided fishing package. Our fully modern cottage rentals are equipped with kitchen facilities for your own meal preparation.

American Plan Fly In Lodges: When looking for an american plan fly in lodge, our lodge on Shoal Lake can be either a boat in or fly in lodge. Fly in and enjoy the canadian wilderness in a remote secluded setting and let us make your vacation one to remember.

Licenses / Fishing: For your convenience while on your canadian vacation we have fishing licenses available for you at our lodge on Shoal Lake.

Guides / Fishing: All of our fishing guides are local natives who have lived on Shoal Lake & have years of fishing/guiding experience. We recommend the use of a guide for your entire stay as they will add to your experience by setting you on fish faster.

Amenities / Satellite TV: After a day of fishing on Shoal Lake sit back and relax in our games room or lounge and watch our Satellite TV.

Amenities / Games Rooms: We have a new games room. This recreation room offers things such as a pool table, and Satellite TV in case of a rainy day.
