While disliked by some ravens are a bird of both mystery and reverence to the region's indigenous people. Ravens play key roles in the ecosystem as scavengers of carrion. They are often seen right in town during the winter months looking for an easier meal. Ravens most often build their nests on elevated rock cuts with just a pile of sticks and some grass. These birds stay around the entire year and are another iconic image of Sunset Country.
