Fishing Trip: While on your fishing trip at Big North Lodge on Gun Lake, fish for walleye, northern pike, muskie or smallmouth bass on a series of 5 lakes from our main lodge.

Hunting Trips: Planning a Ontario hunting trip to the Minaki area? At our lodge we offer hunts for deer, moose, bear, wolf or grouse.

Northern Pike: Northern pike can be found right at the lodge on Gun Lake, or in the Winnipeg River & English River Systems. On Maynard Lake our guests have caught 25-pounder pike.

Walleye: Your Canadian fishing trip to our resort on the Winnipeg River System offers you fantastic walleye fishing. There are numerous lakes to choose from such as Gun, Big or Little Sand - all are great choices.

Muskie: The Winnpeg River System in the Lake of the Woods area is where you can fish for the elusive Muskie for the experienced, patient fisherman. Five lakes such as Big Sand, Little Sand, Rough Rock, & Gun Lake can be reached by boat without portaging.

Bass / Smallmouth Bass: Smallmouth bass fishing is excellent from May to October. Our fly-in outpost on Roger Lake features some of the finest small mouth bass fishing found in Northwestern Ontario.

Black Bear: We offer the best canadian black bear hunts in the Minaki area. You can hunt over 600 square miles of prime black bear country with over 50 baited tree stands, accessible by road, water or ATV. Our success rate the last 7 years has been over 80%.

Deer: The Minaki area of Northwestern Ontario is on the northern edge of the deer range. Canadian whitetail deer hunting is very popular in our area as the deer are very large-bodied and fast-growing. Bucks that score in the 140's are fairly common.

Moose: Take your next moose hunt with Big North Lodge & Outposts, we're located in the Minaki area of Northwestern Ontario in the heart of moose country.

Wolf: Our resort offers wolf hunts in the Minaki area of Northwestern Ontario.

Rivers: Fish the Winnipeg River System from the main lodge or fish the English River System from our outpost on Maynard and Roger Lakes.

Boat Rentals / Fishing Boats: Four our fishing boat rentals we have safe, comfortable 17' Lund Outfitters featuring pedestal seats, non-slip marine vinyl floors, live wells, new 4-stroke 50 h.p. Mercury motors with electric start, power trim. Fish all day in comfort.

Boat Launches: Our boat launch is well maintained for those of you who wish to bring your own boats. Our docks with individual slips, provide convenient, sheltered docking for our Lund Outfitters, as well as docking for guests' own boats. Power available at docks.

Cabin Rentals: At Big North Lodge our cabins rentals near Minaki, Ontario have propane or electric heat, electricity, hot & cold running water, private bathroom with basin, shower, tubs & flush toilet. Enjoy your canadian vacation in our comfortable accommodations.

Housekeeping Cabins: The housekeeping cabins have spacious kitchens equipped with refrigerator, stove, dishes, pots & pans and kitchen utensils. Each cottage also has a propane BBQ in the screened porch for those delicious summer BBQ's. All linens supplied.

American Plan: American Plan guests have the comforts of our housekeeping cottages to relax and enjoy evening snacks. Daily maid service is provided. Delicious home cooked meals (shore lunch when fishing) are served in the lodge dining room.

Cottage Rentals: Enjoy the beauty of a wilderness setting on the Winnipeg River near Kenora, Ontario with all the comforts of home. Fully modern cottages rentals, comfortably furnished, can accommodate 2 to 6 people & as many as 10-12 in our large 4 bedroom cottage.

Outposts: Choose your next fishing trip at our Maynard Lake Outpost on the English River System or at our Roger Lake Outpost - on the uninhabited Sturgeon River, which abounds with trophy pike & walleye.

Fly In Access: Fly in to our outposts on Maynard and Roger Lakes for the fishing trip of a lifetime.

Air Services / Day Trips: For a change of pace and you would like a day trip to another lake, daily fly ins can be arranged with prior notice. An additional fee applies. Venture out to lakes accessible only by float plane.

Drive In Access: Big North Lodge is a drive-in wilderness fishing facility with old-fashioned hospitality. To get here, follow Highway 596 north from Kenora for 25 miles to Big North Road.

Licenses / Fishing and Hunting: At our lodge on Gun Lake we offer fishing and hunting licences for your convenience.

Amenities / Games Rooms: The expanded lounge area in the main lodge acts as a games room and provides the ideal setting to meet the other guests, exchange fishing and hunting tales or play a game of pool.

Guides / Fishing: Our fishing guides are experienced & qualified to make your fishing trip a memorable one. Who can forget the famous shore lunches, expertly prepared by your guide. A feast of fresh walleye with all the trimmings is worth telling your friends about.
