Aboriginal history is everywhere in Northwestern Ontario and visitors to the area have the opportunity to learn much about these ancient cultures during their stay. Take a cruise on the MS Kenora and learn first hand about what this region's native people are all about. Custom trip packages for groups are available. Another place where you can gain knowledge of the area's First Nations are at the Manitou Mounds near Stratton, Ontario. With an Interpretive Centre right on site and tours of the site, you will venture back in time and learn much about native traditions and culture. The Manitou Moundas are so important in fact that they have been designated a National Historic Site in Canada.
