From completely untamed wilderness river systems to some which are accessible by vehicle, you'll be awestruck by the beauty that awaits you. Go wilderness canoeing, kayaking or boating. The many river systems in Sunset Country also offer some of the region's best fishing. Bass, walleye and big northern pike inhabit the waters river fishing is a popular past time up here. There is also tremendous historical significance to our river systems. These water links were the highways for local aboriginal people for centuries. Who knows, maybe you'll see native rock paintings on your canoe trip in Ontario. The first European explorers and later, fur traders used them to open up the Canadian west. These were the lifeline of the men who worked for the Hudson Bay and Northwest Companies in the 18th and 19th centuries.
