Hunting Trips: Helliars Resort located in Nestor Falls, Ontario offers the following hunting trips: Sept. & Oct for ducks, geese and grouse and deer hunting trips start in early October.

Walleye: Plan your next canadian fishing trip and go fishing for walleye on Lake of the Woods, where they average in size from 1-11/2 lbs to trophy walleye. After a day of great fishing relax at night in one of our cabin rentals which overlook the lake.

Muskie: Sabaskong Bay is a great area for a canadian musky fishing trip, long noted for its trophy muskie. With the catch & release trend there seems to be more muskie than ever, and is keeping Lake of the Woods a quality lake for fishing.

Northern Pike: Lake of the Woods is very vast and diverse making it a great fishing vacation destination, you can explore different shoreline and structure every day without leaving the big lake. There are plenty of spots for good northern pike fishing.

Bass / Smallmouth Bass: An Ontario smallmouth bass fishing trip on Sabaskong Bay is lot's of fun. This fiesty fish can be find in many places on Lake of the Woods. The lake has many channels and bays ensuring you rarely encounter what we term "Big Water".

Trout / Lake Trout: Stay at one of our cabin rentals in Nestor Falls and go fishing for lake trout. Many parts of Lake of the Woods have deep holes great for trout fishing.

Crappie: The Nestor Falls area has great crappie fishing. Helliar's Resort is located on Sabaskong Bay on Lake of the Woods.

Perch: Perch, walleye, muskie, smallmouth bass, northern pike and crappie are all found in good quantities on Lake of the Woods. Stay at our housekeeping resort on Sabaskong Bay and go perch fishing.

Deer: Ontario deer hunting starts in early October. Helliar's Resort is easily found just off Highway 71 in Nestor Falls. Our area of Lake of the Woods offers some of the best trophy deer hunts in Northwestern Ontario.

Birds / Grouse: Grouse hunting takes place in September and October. Many people plan a fall fishing trip on Lake of the Woods combined with some grouse hunting.

Birds / Duck: The Lake of the Woods area has great duck hunting. Stay at one of our cabin rentals in Nestor Fall, Ontario, Canada.

Waterskiing: While on your vacation in Nestor Falls waterskiing on Lake of the Woods is very popular. Adults and children alike both can enjoy this watersport.

Boat Rentals / Fishing Boats: We have fishing boat rentals on Lake of the Woods. Boats are equipped with swivel backrest seats and motors are new about every two years.

Boat Launches: Helliar's Resort on Lake of the Woods has a boat launch for your convenience if you wish to bring your own boat on your vacation with us.

Boat Gas: We have mixed and unmixed boat gas at the docks. If you rent a boat for the week, our attendants will keep it gassed and ready to go when you need it.

Housekeeping Cabins: Our housekeeping cabins are spaced for your privacy & have all the modern conveniences of home. The cabin rentals are located right off Highway 71 in Nestor Falls right next to the waterfalls on Lake of the Woods.

Cabin Rentals: Helliar's Resort offers cabin rentals on Sabaskong Bay on Lake of the Woods. The cabin rentals are heated for cool weather and some are air-conditioned in case you encounter a hot spell. The cabins have decks facing Lake of the Woods & include a BBQ

Cottage Rentals: We have cottage rentals on Lake of the Woods which are open from May to October. Our cottages in Nestor Falls, Ontario are clean, modern and comfortable. They all have a view of the lake. All have a shower and some have a tub & shower.

Family Vacations: Take your next family vacation to Nestor Falls, Ontario. Helliar's Resort is located at the waterfalls where Lake of the Woods meets Lake Kakabikitchewan. We have a store and gift shop and an excellent ice cream parlor.

Drive In Access: Drive in to our resort on Lake of the Woods. Helliar's Resort is easily found just off Highway 71 in Nestor Falls. We are located on Sabaskong Bay.

Hotels / Motels: Our hotel/motel rooms are above our store with a view of Lake of The Woods if you're planning to stay just for the night. We are right next to the waterfalls in Nestor Falls. There restaurants, ice cream parlors and mini-putt located nearby.

Guides / Fishing: Please let us know in advance if you'd like to use a fishing guide on Lake of the Woods. Your guided fishing trip will include a guide boat, shore lunch and live bait.

Amenities / Handicapped: Helliar's Resort in Nestor Falls, Ontario has handicapped facilites with wheel chair accessiblity.

Retail Outlets / Gift Shops: Browse around our gift shop in Nestor Falls. We have the largest selection of open stock bone china patterns in the area. Unique jewellery, souvenirs, crystal, coats, jackets, sweaters and T-Shirts. We also sell fishing tackle, lures & fishing rods.

Retail Outlets / Groceries: While on your vacation at Helliars Resort in Nestor Falls, Ontario, we also have groceries in our store, handy for picking up such things as milk, bread, eggs, ice cream and soda pop, and all fixings for shore lunches.

Amenities / On-site Bait & Tackle: Our store in Nestor Falls has an on-site bait & tackle shop that sells fishing tackle and lures. A good selection of lake maps as well as fishing rods and accessories.
