Walleye: Walleye fishing on Lake of the Woods is definitely the most popular fish that our houseboat vacation guests like to catch. Successful walleye habitant management over the past 15 years has produced excellent fishing for this species in all sizes.

Northern Pike: Northern Pike can be found in many types of waters & is an aggressive, sought-after species. Pike average from 8-12 lbs with larger pike weighing 30+ lbs. Fish for this species on Lake of the Woods or Shoal Lake while on your houseboat fishing trip.

Bass / Smallmouth Bass: Lake of the Woods & Shoal Lake sustain some of the best Smallmouth Bass & Northern fisheries in Northwestern Ontario. With its crystal clear water & unsurpassed fishing Shoal Lake is truly a sportsmen's paradise & accessible from Lake of the Woods.

Muskie: Lake of the Woods and Shoal Lake offers one of the best fishing destinations in North America to fish for the prized musky. Sizes of muskie ranging from 40 - 45 pounds are caught on a regular basis in our region every year.

Trout / Lake Trout: Early spring & fall are the best times to find Lake Trout in shallower waters. Clearwater Bay on Lake of the Woods is deep for the summer fishing of trout, which can average between 2-5 lbs with the bigger trout ranging in the 15-20 lb size.

Crappie: Lake of the Woods is open all year for fishing crappie. The mornings tend to be the best time to catch these fish. Look for black crappie in shallow bays in the spring and weeds in the summer months.

Perch: Lake of the Woods has an abundant population of yellow perch, which is great species to teach your children how to fish.

Deer: The Kenora area boasts an abundant white-tailed deer population for hunting. Spend your ontario hunting trip on a houseboat and explore all the areas that Lake of the Woods has to offer.

Drive In Access: Drive in to our base in Kenora, Ontario. We are located on the north end of Lake of the Woods. To reach us from the south travel via Hwy 71 - we are 125 miles north of International Falls, MN and 120 miles east of Winnipeg, MB.
