Wabakimi Lake is huge and remote, and is at the dead centre of Wabakimi Wilderness Park, the largest canoeing reserve in the world. Besides huge pike and lake trout, Wabakimi also has great walleye fishing. It is also an important habitat (both winter and calving, on its dozens of rocky islands) for woodland caribou. Wilderness canoe routes radiate in all directions. Wabakimi lake is about a fifty miles flight from the town of Armstrong... or a four day paddle!
