Stanley's Resort

Secluded Settings: Stanley's is located on the West Arm of Eagle Lake, which is a secluded and narrow, 16 mile channel that is only 1½ miles at its widest point.

Winter Activities / Snowmobiling: Snowmobiling is a great way to spend a winter day enjoying a ride through the wilderness of Ontario. Cross frozen lakes, through forests or just for a days outing for ice fishing, you are sure to have great fun.

Canoeing & Kayaking / Canoeing: Go canoeing into Winnange Park. The Park is comprised around Winnange Lake or Buzzard as it is known to the locals. This deep clear lake is the template for Canadian Wilderness. Huge rock cliffs, dotted with majestic red & white pines.

Winter Activities / Snowshoeing: Snowshoeing is another fun winter activity you can enjoy when you spend time with us in Northwestern Ontario.

Fishing Trip: Plan your next Canada fishing trip to Stanley's Resort on Eagle Lake or visit our outpost on Papanoga Lake. Eagle Lake, is home to six varieties of fish, all of them starting within sight of your cottage.

Hunting Trips: We offer moose, bear and duck hunting.

Hiking: For those of you who would like to spend a few days of your trip simply enjoying the beauty of northwestern Ontario, Stanley's has many different things to offer. Try a walk down our hiking trail, & maybe pick some blueberries (available July - Aug.)

Spa / Saunas: The sauna can be heated up and ready to go in a matter of minutes.

Playgrounds: For the younger crowd, Stanley's has a sand beach with a play structure and lawn chairs.

Swimming: We have a great sandy beach, or for the more adventurous, try our deep water swimming area with diving board, slide and swim raft.

Winter Activities / Dog Sledding: There is dog sledding close by our resort in Vermilion Bay. We can make arrangements for you to spend a day enjoying a great winter activity.

Winter Activities / Cross Country Skiing: If you enjoy cross country skiing then come and enjoy skiing across the frozen lake or try out the trails in the Vermilion Bay area.

Walleye: This tasty fish is the most sought after. Luckily at Stanley's, walleye fishing starts only minutes away. With an abundance of structure within sight of the resort, your time is spent fishing, not traveling to and from.

Muskie: Interested in flying out for a fun filled day of Muskie fishing?? Fly by float aircraft to our own private lake where you and two of your friends will be guided by your pilot on a Muskie only lake. Eagle Lake is renowned for it's trophy Musky.

Northern Pike: The size of northern pike range from "hammer-handles" all the way up to trophy. With shorelunch size to eat and some larger ones to CPR (catch, photo & release), the northern fishing will be talked about long after you return from your trip.

Bass / Smallmouth Bass: Smallmouth bass have long been know for their fantastic fight and airborne antics. Eagle Lake as well as several of our portage lakes are proving grounds for those who are looking to battle the bronze backs.

Trout / Lake Trout: Lake Trout: Try these deep water fighters. the average size on Eagle Lake is about 6 lbs., but fish over 30 have been brought in. Early spring has the lake trout close to the surface, just trolling and casting the shoreline will bring you success.

Ice Fishing: Ice fishing on Eagle Lake for northern pike and walleye is just one the lakes in northwestern ontario where you can snowmobile to and spend the day fishing for your favourite type of fish.

Whitefish: Considered one of the best tasting fish by many of our guests once served we have served whitefish at our fish fry, you can catch them minutes away from your cottage.

Wildlife Viewing: When you are at our resort on Eagle Lake you will find wildlife viewing part of your day. You may see a majestic moose, eagles soaring in the clear blue sky or listen to the plaintif call of the loon as you sit on the deck & enjoy a beautiful sunset

Berry Picking: Try a walk down our hiking trail, and maybe pick some blueberries if they are in season (end of July through August).

Deer: Stanley's Resort in Vermilion Bay offers trophy whitetail deer hunts, includes prebaited stands, guide service, cottage rentals, licences and export permit are also included for your hunting trip to Ontario.

Black Bear: Our black bear hunts are pre-baited, fully guided hunts which include your licence, export permit and cabin rentals, everything you will need for your canadian bear hunting trip at Stanley's Resort on Eagle Lake.

Moose: Hunt Papaonga Lake Outpost for Moose starting Mid-October. Guides available or go hunting by yourself.

Birds / Grouse / Ruffed Grouse: A fall hunting trip to Eagle Lake for ruffed grouse is a good choice, with many logging roads in the area you can bring your ATV's and go ride or just walk the many trails in the area and you will find plenty of grouse.

Boat Rentals / Canoes & Kayaks: We have full or partial canoe outfitting. Paddle Winnange Park. Winnange Lake is 7 miles long itself with a wide aray of channels and bays. Surrounding Winnange are several portages to Manomin, Stewart, GeeJay, Teggau and Eagle Lakes.

Boat Rentals / Fishing Boats: Stanley's offers full marina service to their guests. Each package includes a boat, motor & gas. Our guests are treated to the greatest comforts in our complete fleet of Lund boats. Stanley's is proud to offer the best equipment.

Housekeeping Cabins: Stanley's is the premier drive-in housekeeping resort in all of Northwestern Ontario. Positioned on the rugged Canadian shield and surrounded by untouched boreal forest, it is lakeside living at it's finest! Our housekeeping cabins are on Eagle Lake.

Cabin Rentals: Stanley's Resort offers cabin rentals on Eagle Lake, Ontario. These cabins have 1 to 4 bedrooms and have full bathrooms and kitchens. Go to our website for 36 degree photos of the interior of these beautiful cabins.

Cottage Rentals: With fully equipped, handicapped accessible cottage rentals, from 1-4 bedrooms, our guests are delighted with our five star quality cottages. The cottages come complete with all the bedding & linens, living room, satellite TV, Weber grills & more.

Family Vacations: Stanley's Resort offers great family vacations. Your Canadian cabin rental is equipped with all the conveniences of home. There is plenty for the children to do: water sports, fishing, swimming, canoeing, wildlife viewing & more.

Fly In Access: Fly in & experience true wilderness fishing for walleyes and northern pike only one hour from Stanley's. Papaonga Lake is about 90 air miles north and is fed by a series of river systems and is considered one of the best remote lakes in the area.

Drive In Access: Located within an easy one days drive of most Mid-western US cities, Stanley's offers the best in remote wilderness, as well as modern conveniences. Paved roads lead you right to Stanley's front door, with only the last 1 mile being a gravel road.

Licenses / Fishing and Hunting: We have both fishing and hunting licenses available for you at our resort on Eagle Lake.

Guides / Fishing: Stanley's Resort on Eagle Lake has experienced fishing guides available for you when you spend your fishing trip to Ontario with us if you so desire one.

Guides / Hunting: Our hunting guides are included in your package price for both black bear, whitetailed deer and moose hunts at our resort in Vermilion Bay, Ontario.

Amenities / Wireless Internet: All of our fully modern housekeeping cabins have wireless internet for you to use while you are on your ontario vacation with us.

Islands / Cottages: Boat in to a rustic log cabin hand crafted in the 40's and located on an island at the far West Arm of Eagle Lake, just seconds from Buzzard falls. The fishing starts right off the end of the dock.

Outfitters / Canoe & Kayak Outfitters: Winnange park is a small wilderness park located 3 hours north of the border from International Falls Mn. or 3 hours west of Winnipeg MB. Choose what level of outfitting you need, from partial to complete. Add-in a fly-in drop off or pick-up.
